Alvin Julian Felton Sr., 86 of Pineville, KY went to be with Our Lord & Savior on the 28th day of June 2013. He was born in Pineville, KY on June 1, 1927 a son of the late Julis Eugene and Nannie Smith Felton. He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Fourmile, KY and served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He encompassed the word servant and servant hood to everyone who knew him, knew his love was to his country, his community, and his family. He was known for his zeal and passion for life; always laughing, smiling and driven to do what was right whether popular or not. In honor of the community service work that he has given over the years , a bridge on Route 66 has been dedicated in his name. He will never be forgotten and will remain in the hearts of us who knew and loved him. We love you and will see you again. We would like to thank any and all who have loved and cared for him from The Felton Family.
In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by son, Douglas Kent Felton, brother William Ray Felton and sister, Betty Felton Reynolds and an infant brother and two sisters.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Mary Edna Napier Felton of Pineville, KY; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Harold D Messer of OH; daughter and son-in-law , Sherry and Clyde C. Brock of TN, daughter and son-in-law, Jannie and William R. Cardwell of TN, daughter, Nancy Partin of OH; son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Teresa Felton of KY; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jonathan R. Hendrickson of VA; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W.Boyd Bingham. Interment will be in Pineville Memorial Cemetery. With military honors by the U.S. Navy. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
