Mary Nell Gray Vestal, 83, passed away Friday, September 6, at Tri State Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Harrogate, TN.


She was born May 24, 1930, the daughter of the late William Thomas Gray and Bessie Collingsworth Gray. She was a member of the Binghamtown Baptist Church. Nell retired from Lee’s Drug Store in Middlesboro, after working there for over 30 years. She had also been an Avon Representative for 7 years.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Joe Paul Vestal, 5 sisters: Corine Younce, Betty Wyatt, Lucille Wyatt, Pauline Barnett and Azalee Gray, 1 Brother: Johnny Gray, and 3 half-sisters: Dallie Sowders, Vestie Hensley and Anna Whitaker.


She is survived by the following members of her family:


2 Daughters: Ann (Ted) Harrell and Linda Vestal all of Harrogate, TN


1 Granddaughter: Amber Harrell of Harrogate, TN


1 Great grandson: Brayden Harrell of Harrogate, TN


1 Sister: Loretta Barnes of Indiana


1 Sister-in-law: Audrey Henderson of Ohio


And a host of nieces, nephews and close family friends Ivan and Erica Wilson


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, at the Creech Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Harrell and Dr. William Boyd Bingham presiding.


Music will be provided by Eddie and Judy Adkins and the Binghamtown Church Choir.


Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens.


Pallbearers will be Raymond Wyatt, Cecil Henderson, Nathan Epperson, Jason Bayless, Tommy Martin and Rodney Robbins.


Honorary pallbearers will be the Nurses and CNAs of Tri State Health and Rehabilitation and the staff of Amedisys Hospice.
