A well-known place for lodging in the Tri-State area is under new ownership and undergoing some renovations to make it even better.
The Cumberland Gap Inn, also known as the Hotel Cumberland Gap, is located in the heart of the historical town it’s named after, near the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park.
The Inn, located at 630 Brooklyn Street, is owned by a partnership of three brothers: Nadeem “Nick” Sayani, Mansoor “Johnny” Sayani and Saleem “Mike” Sayani.
According to the owners, the Hotel Cumberland Gap meets the high standard of two big chain hotels in the area. The uniqueness of Hotel Cumberland Gap is the location it is in, they added.
The Inn is unique, with large windows facing the panoramic view of the mountains. Behind the Inn, there are balconies on the upper levels and patios on the lower level that face a natural water creek that guests enjoy wading in.
“Overlooking the forest, you will overhear beautiful birds singing in the morning and even see the occasional deer running around,” according to the hotel’s website.
A suite is available on the upper floor which can be reserved for any special occasion. There are a total of 30 rooms.
The hotel is currently undergoing several renovations, including the addition of a laundry room, and more are planned.
“It’s an ongoing process,” said Johnny Sayani. “We are working to make it better all the time.”
The company has another location nearby in Tazewell, the Dixie Plaza Motel, which they have operated for more than 10 years.
“We offer the same great customer service at either hotel,” he said.
