Stand in the Gap will be holding a meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Stand in the Gap headquarters located at 502 Pennlyn Street in Cumberland Gap, Tenn. The meeting is open to the public and will feature a panel of 11 sheriffs from the Tri-State area.
Each attending sheriff will have an opportunity to address topics involving illicit drug activity, alcohol related problems and associated family violence as it’s related to their county.
The Stand in the Gap Coalition (SIGCO) is a “faith based” non profit organization which has no public or private alliances. The purpose of the organization is to seek the eradication of drug/alcohol abuse and family violence throughout the 11 coalition counties.
The coalition counties are “linked together” by volunteers to share, educate and cooperate with all the communities, schools, churches and civic entities on the urgent topic of drug, alcohol and family violence in the area.
“We, SIGCO, stand ready as faith believing American citizens to assist with dedicated efforts to protect our children, families, schools, businesses and homes,” said Dan Spurlock of SIGCO.
