Children’s services librarian Christina Partin reads a Halloween book to children at the Pineville Public Library Boo Bash. More than 30 children were awarded for reading with favor bags, cookies and trick-or-treat candy. They came dressed in costumes ranging from a female ninja to a baseball player. Several signed up for their first library card. One Boo Bash attendee was Rachel Howard dressed up as a mermaid with purple Vampire teeth. “My favorite thing about reading is it makes you smart,” said Howard.
