Participant Rick Running Bear of New Tazewell, Tenn. jumped into Gap Creek for the 13th annual Polar Bear Dip at the Little Congress Bicycle Museum in Cumberland Gap, Tenn. on Wednesday. The 36.5 degree water is fed from Gap Cave in the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and flows throughout the town. Forty participants and 250 spectators rang in the new year with this chilly tradition.
