As a child Kevin Bisceglia wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. As he grew up his father ensured that with every step toward his goal, he would have to earn his place in the realty business.
Kevin’s father, Lawrence Bisceglia, opened the business in 1965. Since the day the doors opened, the Bisceglia family has focused on the needs of the community in the ever changing market.
“Already serving the entire Tri-State area, there was never much room for further diversification during tough times. I focused on what was most important — my customers,” said Bisceglia.
Despite this positive outlook on the real estate market, there have been tough times for the company. Bisceglia decided to expand his knowledge to include appraising and auctioneering in all three states, allowing him to shift his focus around to what aspect of the market needed his attention most.
“It’s helped me diversify. If appraisal work gets slow then the auction business picks up and if that gets slow the real estate business will pick up,” said Bisceglia.
The Bisceglia Realty office was originally located in downtown Middlesboro but was moved to its current location at 1445 U.S. 25E in 1977.
In 1996 Lawrence was in a car accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. “My best friend and my business partner gone, it really affects your business,” said Kevin. To continue the lasting impressions Lawrence left on the Middlesboro realty market, Kevin honors his father’s principles by putting clients first.
