Blood drive set at Middlesboro Mall

March 14, 2014

Medic Regional Blood Center is encouraging all eligible donors to visit them on Tuesday at Middlesboro Mall.

The community blood center continues to struggle to meet the demand of area hospitals and needs help.

“We have had several cancellations due to weather or illness and we have been playing catch up ever since the middle of January,” states Christi Fightmaster, Medic’s director of public relations.

To help the blood center boost inventory, donors can visit inside the mall at the old Sear’s store from noon to 6 p.m.

All donors will receive a free T-shirt as well Medic’s membership plan which exempts donors and their IRS dependents from paying blood processing fees if a transfusion is needed from one year of the donation date. However, please note that Medic’s membership plan does not cover pre-existing conditions.
