‘Selling to the World’ expo held at SKCTC

The “Selling to the World” expo began on Thursday at Southeast Community and Technical College in Middlesboro with several key topics discussed. Among those topics discussed was “Small Business 101 and Creating a Winning Business Plan,” which was presented by Samuel Coleman Jr.

During this session, Coleman hit several key points in regards to starting a small business. These topics included subjects such as retaining an attorney and an accountant, deciding the best legal structure for a business, developing a plan and even selecting a name for your business.

In the business plan section of the discussion, Coleman hit three parts of the business plan: background, market analysis and financial projections.

Other topics discussed included web design for small business, fulfillment with amazon, tapping into export marketing, how to patent your product or idea, USDA food sale guidelines, basic bookkeeping for small business, business law and many more.

The expo will continue today beginning at 9 a.m. There will be only six topics hit during the day including: web design, exporting, market research/strategy/economic gardening, quickbooks, canvas business model/business plan and social media marketing/ e-commerce and growing your business.
