A veteran of the United States Army, he had retired after working as a drywall finisher for 37 years.
He was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all those who loved him.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Elisha and Frances Roark; brother, James H. Roark; and two sisters, Betty Joe Roark and Debbie Eldridge.
Ray, also known as “Brother” leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Anna Ruth Roark of Rose Hill, Va.; two daughters, Yvonna Smith and fiance, Eric Denny of Ewing, and April and Christopher Rines of Severna Park, Md.; grandsons, Justin and Cameron Rines of Severna Park, Md., and Dillon Smith of Ewing; one sister, Evelyn Scott of Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Kennon Roark of Barbourville, Ky., and Jackie Lynn Roark of Alabama; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Arney-Mullins Funeral Home in Rose Hill Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. Kennon Roark officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lee Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, Va.
