CUMBERLAND GAP, Tenn. — Aline “Goodie” Farmer Bowers, age 86, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Born December 24, 1922, in Caryville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Hobert Porter Pickle and Jeanette Pebley Pickle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands John H. Farmer and John K. Bowers; and two sisters Kathleen Davis and Peggy Jones.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Tommy) Barton Cumberland Gap, Tenn.; son, John G. (Donna) Farmer , Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Thomas Giovanni (Anita) Barton, Lenoir City, Tenn., Allison Barton, Harrogate, Tenn., Jonathan Farmer Nashville, Tenn., Lauren Farmer, Nashville, Tenn.; two special great grandchildren, Alexis and Alexander Barton.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Norris Memorial Gardens in Norris, Tenn. with the Rev. Henry Lenoir presiding.

Creech Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
