Appalachian Regional Healthcare honored employees from across its Kentucky and West Virginia system Feb. 13 in Lexington.
Employee representatives from each ARH community who had been named as their respective hospital’s 2013 Annual CARES Winner were recognized during the system’s Board of Trustees meeting.
Middlesboro ARH Hospital’s winner is Billy Joe Davis, radio-logic technician in the Radiology Department.
Employed at ARH for 14 years, Davis was nominated for the award because he always puts the patient’s needs first.
“Whether it’s going the extra mile to lessen a patient’s anxiety or troubleshooting radiology equipment, Billy Joe consistently shows his dedication to his patients every day,” says Middlesboro ARH Community CEO Michael Slusher.
“Over the past 14 years, Billy Joe has built a genuine rapport with his patients,” says Kathy Miracle, Middlesboro ARH Director of Radiology Services. “In fact, when patients come into the department, they ask for him by name. Billy Joe is very deserving of this award.”
Annual CARES Award recipients are outstanding employees who consistently go the extra mile for our patients and communities by meeting and exceeding the ARH CARES Standards (Communication, Attentive, Respectful, Environment and Special) in their local community.
“These employees have been recognized as going above and beyond to care for our patients, the communities we serve and their co-workers,” ARH President and CEO Joe Grossman said. “We are very proud of each of our CARES recipients and sincerely appreciate their dedication to a health system that means so much to our communities.”
