Water splashed into the newly lined, totally renovated New Tazewell Municipal Pool in preparation for the opening of swim season last Saturday. Red Cross certified swim instructor Kierstyn Powell will be available this summer for swimming lessons through the safety water program. Ages six months to the elderly qualify for the Red Cross program. The new splash pad is expected to be a favorite hangout among the kiddies and the non-slip pool padding is expected to prevent slips and falls. On Father’s Day, June 15, all dads accompanied by a son or daughter will be admitted free as long as that child has paid admittance for themselves. The pool is open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 5:30 p.m, and Sunday, from noon until 5:30 p.m.
