Three men have been indicted by the Bell County Grand Jury on a theft charge.


Gary Dwayne Hoskins, 33, of Hulen, Eugene Greene Jr., 28, of Hulen, and Donnie Wayne Caldwell, 46, of Kettle Island, were all indicted for theft by unlawful taking over $500.


According to the indictment, the three men stole a Steel I-Beam valued at approximately $1,500 belonging to David Mills. The alleged theft occurred in April.


Caldwell was also indicted for being a persistent felony offender.


Kentucky State Police Troopers Don Perry and Roy Pace were the case officers involved.


Tommy Ray Smith, 41, of Arjay , was also indicted by the grand jury. He was indicted for first- and second-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, failure to wear seat belt, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, operating on suspended/revoked operators license and for being a persistent felony offender.


According to the indictment, Smith failed to stop his vehicle when Sgt. Joe Holder of the Middlesboro Police Department signaled him to. He also attempted to elude police on foot during the incident.


When Smith was captured, he had marijuana and drug paraphernalia in his possession. The incident occurred in June.


Holder was the case officer during the incident.


Others indicted and charges include:


* Timothy F. Gray, of Flat Lick, theft by unlawful taking over $500, persistent felony offender;


* Roderick K. Benson, 31, of Lexington, first-degree burglary, persistent felony offender.
