The Pineville Police Department arrested a man on Monday on drugs charges.


Douglas Wayne Asher, 41, of Flat Lick, was arrested by Officer Dan Tuttle and charged with first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, prescription controlled substance not in original container, possession of marijuana, resident register vehicle in other state-evade vehicle take under $100, driving on DUI suspended license, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance and was served a bench warrant.


According to the arrest citation, Asher had a prescription of oxycodone tablets that was filled on Sept. 30. The prescription called for 120 tablets and their was only 72 tablets remaining.


The citation states Asher had white oval shaped tablets with markings 229 on them. The tablets were found inside a black pouch. Marijuana was also allegedly found inside Asher’s vehicle.


The vehicle Asher was driving was registered in Tennessee while Asher lives in Kentucky. He was arrested on U.S. 25E near Delta Express. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
