The White Lightning Trail Festival has been selected for the second year in a row as one of the Southeast Tourism Society’s Top 20 Events for June 2014.
Claiborne County Director of Tourism Carl Nichols said he was pleased the festival received recognition for last year’s event and is even more excited that it received the honor a second year.
“This is wonderful, a phenomenal opportunity to bring tourism into the county for the 2014 festival. It will be advertised in the 12 states that are represented by the Southeast Tourism Society,” he said.
Nichols is especially appreciative of the festival’s committee members: Nita Louthan, Jerry Hopson, Phyllis Hopson, Joe Wolfenbarger, Susan Bain, Brian Gibson, Tracy Brooks, Tim Robinson and Christina McGrath.
“The committee works especially hard to make the festival the wonderful event that it is,” Nichols added.
Nichols is already busy booking vendors and entertainers for the June, which will be held June 27 and 28 in downtown Cumberland Gap, Tenn.
Any art and craft vendors, food vendors or entertainers interested in participating should contact Nichols at 865-585-7386.
“I encourage participants to sign up as soon as possible,” he said. “With this honor for the second year, I’m sure the interest will be strong.”
There will be various events leading up to and during the festival as well.
The WLTF Beauty Pageant will be held on June 26. The 5K Run will be June 27.
The car show and bike run will be held during the festival once again.
This year, the WTLF Bike Run will benefit The Pat Summitt Foundation.
