Middlesboro police arrested a woman on Sunday after she allegedly attacked a man with a box cutter.
April Dawn (Underwood) Davis , 33, of Middlesboro, was arrested by officer Justin Barton and charged with second-degree assault.
According to the arrest citation, Davis used the box cutter to cut the side of Gary Wilson’s head and ear. Wilson was transported to Middlesboro ARH to be treated for his injures.
Davis was held at the Bell County Detention Center before being released later the same day.
In other police news, Henry Marshall Thurman, 32, of Middlesboro, was arrested by officer Josh Burchett and charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500 on Saturday.
According to the citation, Thurman took items from a rental house belonging to James Spriggs.
Items stolen included a washer and dryer valued over $400, curtains valued over $200 and seven rugs valued over $400.
The rental home is located on Ellenwood Road.
Thurman was also served two bench warrants.
He was held at the detention center.
Other felony arrests made recently include:
* Kenneth Esco Nash, 51, of Middlesboro, was arrested for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and was served a bench warrant;
* James Travis Helton, 23, of Barbourville, was arrested for fraudulent use of a credit card over $500 but less than $10,000, second-degree burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card under $500 within six months.
