A Harrogate, Tenn., man was arrested Monday by the Middlesboro Police Department after he allegedly charged items to an account without permission.

Daniel Scott Massengill, 42, was arrested by Officer Chuck Bruce and charged with one count of theft by deception over $500 and several counts of theft by deception under $500.

According to the arrest citation, Massengill charged supplies at Hickman Building Supply to Kathy Wooten without her consent. The amount of one charge was $570.59.

Massengill was arrested on KY 74. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center on a $5,000 cash bond.

In other police news, Nathan Clouse, 33, of Middlesboro, was arrested by troopers from the Kentucky State Police.

He was charged with three counts of first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, one count of first-degree promoting contraband and for being a persistent felony offender.

He was being held at the detention center.
