Nicholas Traxler was given the outstanding citizenship award during the regular Bell school board meeting. Traxler was the student who reported the possibility of a dangerous weapon inside Bell County High School several weeks ago. Standing with Traxler is board chairman Kenneth Sams.


Kaylee Caldwell was the first place winner in the state Beta competition. The board gave her a certificate to recognize her work. Caldwell’s drawing, shown here, is entitled Freedom’s Child. She now moves on to the national competition. The board agreed to give the Beta club $2,500 out of the superintendent budget to pay for expenses.
