A Lafollette, Tenn. man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly attempting to flee from the police.

Jeffery B. Price, 49, was arrested by Middlesboro Police Department Officer Barry Cowan and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police.

According to the arrest citation, Cowan observed Price traveling east on KY 74 and did not see a registration. The citation said he noticed Price take an alley driving extremely fast west on KY 74. The officer turned on his emergency lights and followed Price.

Speeds during the pursuit reached nearly 85 mph, according to police.

The chase stopped near Edgewood Road, where Price nearly wrecked attempting to make a left turn, police said.

Price was also charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence, reckless driving and no operator’s/moped license, disregarding a stop sign and was served three bench warrants.

Price was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
