A Middlesboro man was arrested on Friday after being accused of possessing child pornography.


Claude Albert Robinson, 63, was arrested by Kentucky State Police Det. Tyson Lawson and charged with 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and five counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.


According to the release, the arrest was the result of an ongoing Internet Crimes Against Children investigation by the KSP Electronic Crime Branch. Detectives began investigating in October 2013 after they discovered a suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. The majority of the images depicted the sexual abuse of children who were less than 10 years of age.


Police said following the execution of a search warrant at Robinson’s residence in the Middlesboro community, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Bell County Detention Center where he is currently being held on a $50,000 cash bond. A full forensic examination of the evidence is pending.


The investigation is ongoing by KSP Det. Josh Lawson.


In other police news, two people were arrested on methamphetamine charges Saturday. Delbert Lee Roark, 30, of Middlesboro, and Sherry Natasha Conley, 31, of Middlesboro, were both arrested by Middlesboro Police Department Officer Barry Cowan and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.


According to the citation, Cowan pulled Conley’s vehicle over north of the Walmart parking lot because her rear license was not illuminated. Roark was a passenger in the vehicle.


As the result of a search, Cowan allegedly found all the materials needed to manufacture methamphetamine. The items were bought at Walmart and Kroger, according to the citation. There was also an 8-month-old in the vehicle at the time of the traffic stop.


Conley and Roark were both lodged in the detention center and given $100,000 bonds, according to the detention center website.


Others recently arrested and include:


* Timmy Wayne Hembree, 33, of Middlesboro, first-degree trafficking a controlled substance;


* Lance Matthew Amburgey, 31, of Speedwell, Tenn., first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of marijuana and operating a motor vehicle under the influence;


* Ronald Keith Estes, 51, of Edmonton, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding 17 mph over the limit, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance, improper display of registration plates;


* James Edward Lewis, 31, of Fourmile, second-degree trafficking a controlled substance, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, failure to wear a seat belt, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, careless driving, prescription controlled substance not in original container.
