Kentucky State Police troopers responded to the Dollar General Store in the Coldiron community Friday evening on a complaint of an armed robbery.
According to press release from KSP Sgt. Jeremy Lee, upon the Troopers’ arrival it was discovered that Neil Saylor had entered the Dollar General Store, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. Felony warrants for armed robbery and wanton endangerment were brought against Saylor by the Kentucky State Police.
“When Troopers found Mr. Saylor he was armed with a handgun and refused to comply with the Troopers orders to drop the weapon. A standoff ensued for several hours. Kentucky State Police Special Response Team responded to the scene. Mr. Saylor became aggressive toward Troopers and deadly force was used against Mr. Saylor,” stated the release.
Lee said Saylor was taken to the state medical examiners office in Frankfort for a pending autopsy. A Kentucky State Police Shoot Team has responded to the scene to investigate the incident.
