Officials, neighbors and volunteers participated in a clean up of Cumberland Gap recently.
Workers spruced flower beds at city hall, put a fresh coat of paint as needed and replaced rotting boards in Festival Park. The renovations come just in time for several upcoming events.
The annual Genealogy Jamboree begins Thursday and ends with Pioneer Day on June 14. The Jamboree will be from 10 a..m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on on Saturday.

All events are free to the public. There will be plenty of free parking available. Last year’s event brought over 5,000 people to the town.
The Second Saturday in the Gap event will be June 14, including free square dancing.
The White Lightning Trail Festival (WLTF) will be held June 27 and 28. An estimated 30,000 people are expected to attend.
The WLTF was named one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast for June 2014 by the Southeast Tourism Society.
