The Kentucky State Police arrested two more individuals for alleged drug trafficking.
Alisha Nicole Martin, 19, of Walker, and Ashley Renna Sandifer, 24, of Middlesboro, were both arrested on the charges Thursday.
Martin was arrested by Det. Tyson Lawson and charged with second-degree trafficking a controlled substance. She was also served three bench warrants and charged with third-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12.
Sandifer was also arrested by Lawson and charged with first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (cocaine).
Both individuals are being held at the Bell County Detention Center. Martin is being held on a $2,500 bond, while Sandifer is being held on a $5,000 bond.
On Wednesday, KSP conducted a drug roundup that targeted individuals in Bell and Knox counties. Of the 17 individuals that were targeted, 11 were arrested. The arrests stemmed from a 10-month investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics in the two counties.
In other police news, Christy Nicole Turnbill, 28, of Middlesboro, was arrested by Bell County Sheriff Deputy Scott Gray and charged with second-degree assault. She was being held at the detention center.
