As the new school year fast approaches, businesses at the Middlesboro Mall are preparing for their annual back to school bash on Saturday.
Vendors are scheduled to set up from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Vendors included are health care specialists and educational booths for kids. The Children’s Reading Foundation of Appalachia-KY is also partnering with the mall and will be set up throughout the event.
Next is the fashion show which is slated to begin at noon. Clothing from numerous mall stores will be showcased. Middlesboro Mall Marketing Director Sheila Durham invites anyone who would like to take their turn at modeling an opportunity to do so at the bash.
“We are still needing models,” said Durham.
Those interested in participating in the fashion show can call Durham at 606-248-0397.
The grand finale of the event is live entertainment. Local singer/songwriter Jade Robertson will be taking the stage at 3 p.m. and the young artist is looking forward to being a part of the event that she hopes will get everyone ready for school.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the back to school bash and helping the kids get excited and ready to go back to school,” said Robertson.
