Guests at the 90th birthday celebration of Pine Mountain State Resort Park enjoyed a candlelit buffet, birthday cake and a silent film documentary from Appalshop. The documentary was filmed by Carl T. Zody, park superintendent during the late 1930s, and showed Civilian Conservation Corps members working to build the park. Nearly 70 people came to celebrate the history of the park.
Pine Mountain’s 90th birthday cake included watercolor icing paintings of surrounding mountains and the Chained Rock attraction — one of the most notable landscape attractions in the park.
