A Middlesboro man was charged with fleeing from police following an alleged assault on Sunday.
Charles P. Minor, 37, was arrested by Middlesboro Police Officer Edward Dray and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and two counts of fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
According to the arrest citation, following a domestic violence complaint, Minor ran from the residence upon the arrival of MPD. He disobeyed orders to stop when told to do so by a police officer.
The citation states Minor ran approximately two blocks before the evasion ceased. He was arrested at 37th Street and Exeter Avenue.
The citation also states, regarding the assault charges, Minor choked and smacked his girlfriend, causing bruising. He also hit a child causing bruising as well.
Minor was also charged with third-degree criminal trespassing, contempt of court and was served a bench warrant, according to the Bell County Detention Center website.
Johnny Dale Lankford, 39, of Arjay, was also arrested on Sunday. Troopers with the Kentucky State Police charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting arrest.
Lankford was lodged in the detention center.
