A Middlesboro man was arrested Wednesday on a drug charge while police were investigating a dispute.
Jerry Lee Adkins, 48, was arrested by Middlesboro Police Officer Barry Cowan and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
According to the citation, officers were dispatched to Willow Street in regards to a dispute between Adkins and a second subject. It was reported that Adkins had left on a bicycle and the second individual left in a blue Cavalier.
The citation states Adkins was found riding a bicycle on Bellwood. When police made contact he was “manifestly under the influence.” Blue pill residue was caked in his nose, according to police.
The citation states police found blue tablets on Adkins’ person as the result of a search. Police also found a revolver in his shorts pocket.
Adkins was also charged with public intoxication with a controlled substance, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and was served a bench warrant. He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
