The Bell County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Middlesboro man with first-degree sexual abuse.


According to Bell County Sheriff Bruce Bennett, his office received a complaint from a mother that her 10-year-old daughter had been abused by a man at an apartment in Ferndale on June 9. After an investigation by Deputy Mike Cooper, Assistant Couny Attorney Chris Douglas issued a warrant for Terry Simpson, 61, of Pineville, for first-degree sexual abuse.


Bell District Judge Robert Yaokum signed the warrant Friday afternoon and set bond at $100,000 cash. According to Bennett, Simpson turned himself in to Cooper on Monday and the investigation is continuing.


In other police news:


* Joshua Allan Roark, 29, of Middlesboro, was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of marijuana;


* Christopher Allen Hurst, 19, of Middlesboro, was arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing or evading arrest, operating an ATV on roadway, fail of owner to maintain required insurance, operating a vehicle with expired operator’s license, reckless driving and operating an ATV without headgear;


* Anthony Wayne Flannery, 33, of Middlesboro, was arrested and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, operating an ATV on roadway, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, first-degree fleeing or evading police and serving two bench warrants for court;


* Nicole Maria Pritchard, 34, of Inkster, Mich., was arrested and charged with first-degree possession of heroin, first-degree trafficking a controlled substance and second-degree possession of a controlled substance;


*Darrius Marcell Pringle, 25, of Romulus, Mich., was arrested and charged with no/expired other state registration receipt or plate, first-degree trafficking a controlled substance and carrying a concealed deadly weapon;


*Anthony Roger Stoutermire Jr., 27, of Clinton Township, Mich., was arrested and charged with second-degree trafficking a controlled substance and possession of marijuana;


*Enrico Nathan Harris, 28, of Hamtrack, Mich., was arrested and charged with serving a bench warrant for court, theft of identity of another without consent, first-degree possession of heroin and operating on suspended/revoked license;


*Jennifer Lea Ray, 31, of New Tazewell, Tenn., was arrested and charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and possession of a controlled substance and


*Jeremy S. Tribell, 32, of Harrogate, Tenn., was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, public intoxication by a controlled substance, first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and second-degree possession of a controlled substance.


The Bell County Sheriff’s Office also made an out-of state arrest this weekend. Shasta Nicole Wilson, 28, of Speedwell, Tenn., was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
