Runners take off in the 5K Run/Walk on Saturday. Mitchell Miracle took gold in the men's division. Blake Bowling took second and Adam Bowling took bronze. In the women's division, Taylor Grigsby took first, followed by Jessica Grigsby in second and Kristie Collett won third.

Bell County Adventure Tourism paired with the National Guard Armory for the Our Hometown for Our Heroes 5K Walk/Run for Independence on Saturday. The event also included an ATV ride, beginning at Southeast Community College. The event helped raise just under $2,300 for the A Hero Foundation.
