Mission of Hope Executive-Director Emmett Thompson visited Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) on Dec. 5, to participate in the annual tree lighting ceremony.

While on campus he visited with representatives from LMU’s Student Support Service classes and they presented him with six boxes of non-perishable food collected during the fall semester. LMU also collected items for Mission of Hope’s Christmas Campaign at the tree lighting, collecting enough items to fill Thompson’s truck. Mission of Hope will be visiting elementary schools across Appalachia in the coming weeks to deliver Christmas toys and family packets with clothes, food and hygiene items.

Student Support Services is a federally funded program which provides the following services for qualifying students: advising, tutoring, career planning, cultural activities and freshmen mentoring.
