HARROGATE, Tenn. — Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and Claiborne 24/7 Fitness will be hosting a Fitness Expo on April 5, from noon until 4 p.m. in the parking lots of American Rental and Claiborne 24/7 Fitness at 865 Highway 33 South, New Tazewell, Tenn., (next to Gose Park).
The event is free and the community is invited to attend.
The Expo will include a variety of vendors and activities, including fitness competitions, mountain biking and hiking information, nutrition information, tobacco cessation information and free health screenings provided by students and faculty from LMU-DCOM.
In addition, LMU-DCOM student groups will be on hand with information about osteopathic medicine in celebration of National Osteopathic Medicine Week, which runs from April 13-April 19. Fitness competitions include Pump Your Guns contest, Pull-Up contest and Bench Your Weight contest with prizes available for each.
Other agencies participating in the event include the National Guard, the New Tazewell Fire Department, LMU-DCOM student groups SAMOPS and SOMA and the University Medical Clinic. Co-sponsors include American Rental, Claiborne 24/7 Fitness and LMU-DCOM.
The National Guard will be bringing a rock climbing wall for the community and the LMU-DCOM students will demonstrate osteopathic manipulative treatment techniques.
