Middlesboro Police arrested a woman on Thursday for assault.
Jewell L. Jackson, 39, of Middlesboro, was arrested by Officer Edward Dray and charged with second-degree assault.
According to the citation, the arrest stems from incident that occurred back in 2012. Dray served Jackson with the complaint warrant for the assault charge.
Jackson was also charged with operating on suspended/revoked operator’s license, no/expired registration plates, failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance and theft by deception under $500. She was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
In other police news, the MPD arrested Mikel Clifford Maxwell, 35, of Middlesboro, for first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the citation, Maxwell was stopped for riding his bike in the middle of the road in front of Middlesboro High School. He then threw what was later identified as a needle cap from his pocket, police said.
The citation states police also found methamphetamine during the stop. Maxwell was lodged in the detention center.
Other arrests made recently include:
• Christopher Adam Miracle, 27, of Pineville, second-degree burglary;
• Talton Belcher, 47, of Helton, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, operating on suspended/revoked operator’s license, operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
