The temporary bridge at Ambleside is ready to go, according to magistrate Junior Maiden. The news came during the regular Bell County Fiscal Court meeting this week.
As part of the Abbey Lane Bridge Project, a temporary bridge was to be installed while the new bridge was being constructed.
“All those folks that are out there traveling on that bridge be patient,” said Judge-Executive Albey Brock.
The entire project has been in the works for nearly four years. The primary reason it has taken so long to get the project started involved the permitting and design approval from the Division of Water and the federal Department of Fish and Wildlife, according to officials.
The board also made several hires during the meeting.
Aaron Sinkhorn was hired as full-time court security, and Whitney Baker was hired as part-time deputy jailer. Both were hired at an hourly rate of $7.25.
Jonathan Price was hired as a part-time paramedic at $12.75 per hour, and Gary Howard and Adrienne Hoskins were hired as part-time EMT’s at $9 per hour.
Other business taken care of included:
• Accept checks in the amount of $21,751.08 from Bruce Bennett, sheriff;
• Accept check in the amount of $18,008.94 from Rob Lincks, clerk.
