Midway College announced today that it has created and launched an interactive, virtual tour of its campus, often considered to be one of the most beautiful in the country. Located at www.midway.edu, the tour will provide an opportunity for students interested in attending Midway to get to know the school’s campus from the comfort of their home or office.
“While the Midway experience is something we want all of our future students to see firsthand, the virtual tour is a wonderful way to get acquainted with our campus and get a peek inside the buildings as well as the surrounding community,” said Stephanie Whaley, dean of enrollment services at Midway College.
Created in partnership with YouVisit, the online tour is led by current Midway students and recent graduates who guide viewers through 16 locations on and near campus, giving a history of each building and providing information on its current purpose. Each tour stop contains photos, including some panoramas, which give additional views of campus facilities and local amenities.
For the convenience of prospective students who may not speak English as a first language, the tour is also available in French and Spanish.
“Midway College is committed to providing a global education. Welcoming students from other countries and cultures is an important part of that commitment,” said Whaley. “We hope that making the tour available in multiple languages will show international students what a warm, inclusive, and yes, beautiful community we have on our campus.”
Ellen Gregory, vice-president of marketing & communications added “the tour platform gives us a means to share our visual story with those who have not had a chance to visit or who are planning a trip and want to look around a little before they get here. We will continue to add photos and videos to highlight certain events happening on campus. For the user, there is an easy way to request additional information while they are viewing the tour and there is a social share feature which we believe our current students will like to use to share their favorite spot on campus with their friends.”
