Elmer Lee Harp Jr., 68 of Harrogate, TN, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Atlanta, GA.


He was born February 22, 1945 in Bell County, KY, the son of the late Elmer Lee Harp Sr. and Lily Ray Harp.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: J.D. Harp, Sister: Gracie Mullins, Sons: Ronnie Ray Harp and Don Harp, Grandchildren: Amanda Gail Moyers and Alex Wayne Harp. He is survived by the following members of his family:


Loving wife of 48 years: Hope Harp


7 Children: Gail Moyers, Kenneth (Lorie) Harp, Margaret Waldroop, Adrienne (Bob) Gilbert, Elissa Gilbert, Pat (Randy) Gilbert all of Claiborne County, TN, Elmer (Lisa) Harp of Williamsburg, KY.


21 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren


Brothers: Wilburn Harp and David Harp


Special Cousin: Estel Partin


And a host of nieces, nephews and friends.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, at the Powell Valley Church of God with Elmer’s friend of 35 years, Rev. Billy Paul and Rev. Mitchell Nash presiding. Music will be provided by the Powell Valley Church Singers, Rick and Maria Braden and Howard Warwick. Interment will follow in the Harrogate Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Elmer Harp III, Randy Waldroop, B.J. Gilbert, Tyler Gilbert, Robert Gilbert and Dennis Moyers II. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Harp, Bob Gilbert and Randy Gilbert. The family wishes to extend special recognition to Randy Gilbert for being there for them during this difficult time.
