Mr. and Mrs. Rocco Auri of Orlando, Fla., announce the engagement of their daughter, Marilena Auri of Lantana, Fla., to Melvin O. Burnside II of Palm Beach, Fla., son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Burnsid of Middlesboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lena Raponi and the late Salvadore Raponi, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Giulio Auri of Frosinone, Italy.
A 1993 graduate of Atlantic High School of Delray Beach, Fla., she received her RN degree from Palm Beach State College, Palm Beach, Fla., in 2005. She is employed with USA Home Health Care Services.
Her fiance is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Boston Wakin of Naples, Fla., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Okey Burnside of Middlesboro.
A 1990 graduate of Middlesboro High School, he graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1998. He is employed with South Florida Water Management District as a biologist.
The couple are planning a late summer wedding.
