Bell Circuit Court hands out sentences

PINEVILLE — The Bell County Circuit Court recently handed out several sentencings. Individuals and their charges are compiled in the list below, as follows:

Christopher Michael Brown, 37, of Middlesboro was found guilty of two counts of second degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, each a Class D felony. Brown was sentenced to serve three years in a state penitentiary designated by the Department of Corrections. He will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release, and will receive credit for 13 days time served.

Tabitha C. Lane, 36, of Arjay was found guilty of two counts theft by failure to make required disposition of property over $300, each a Class D felony. Lane was sentenced to serve one year in a state penitentiary designated by the Department of Corrections. She will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $131 within 180 days of release, and will receive credit for four days time served.

Michael Dale Brooks, 25, of Middlesboro was found guilty of an amended charge of possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor. Brooks was sentenced to serve 12 months in the Bell County Jail. He will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release.

Paul Everett Parsons, 65, of Pineville was found guilty of the charges of third degree terroristic threatening, each a Class A misdemeanor, first degree wanton endangerment, a Class D felony, resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor. Parsons was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary for the charges of wanton endangerment. He will receive an additional year and three months for the remaining charges, which will be served at the Bell County Jail. Parsons will be placed on supervised probation for a period of five years upon release. He will receive credit for 347 days time served.

Alicia N. Jones, 24, of Pineville was found guilty of an amended charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition under $300. Jones was sentenced to serve one year in the Bell County Jail, which will be probated, and she will be placed on unsupervised probation for a period of two years under specific terms and conditions.

Sue Annette Wilder, 38, of Middlesboro was found guilty of three amended charges of second degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense, each a Class A misdemeanor. Wilder was sentenced to serve one year in the Bell County Jail, which will be probated, and she will be placed on supervised probation for a period of two years under specific terms and conditions.

Steven West, 23, of Pineville was found guilty of an amended charge of second degree robbery, a Class C felony. West was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary designated by the Department of Corrections. He will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release, and will receive credit for 16 days time served.

Jason Allen Lumpkin, 33, of Middlesboro was found guilty of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, a Class C felony. Lumpkin was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary designated by the Department of Corrections. He will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release, and will receive credit for 16 days time served.

Nancy Elizabeth Brown, 42, of Tazewell, Tenn., was found guilty of an amended charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition under $300. Brown was sentenced to serve one year in the Bell County Jail, which will be probated, and she will be placed on unsupervised probation for a period of two years under specific terms and conditions. She will also be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days.

Heather Michelle Payne, 20, of Harrogate, Tenn., was found guilty of an amended charge of theft by unlawful taking or disposition under $300. Payne was sentenced to serve one year in the Bell County Jail, which will be probated, and she will be placed on unsupervised probation for a period of two years under specific terms and conditions. She will also be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days.
