PINEVILLE — The Bell Circuit Court recently handed down several sentencings.
Amanda Gullett, 24, of Middlesboro was found guilty of first degree sexual abuse, a Class D felony, and second degree sexual abuse, a Class A misdemeanor. Gullett was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary, which will be probated, and she will be placed on supervised probation for a period of five years under specific terms and conditions. She will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days.
Shawn D. Gibson, 23, of Middlesboro was found guilty of first degree trafficking in a controlled substance, a Class C felony, first offense. Gibson was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary designated by the Kentucky Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. He will receive 11 days credit for time served in jail.
Marjorie Ann May, 62, of Middlesboro was found guilty of an amended charge of second degree possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor, first offense. May was sentenced to serve 90 days in the Bell County Jail. She will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release.
Brandon David Bush, 22, of Middlesboro was found guilty of complicity to commit robbery in the second degree, a Class C felony. Bush was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary designated by the Kentucky Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. He will receive 64 days credit for time served in jail.
Ivan D. Kanefsky, 28, of Tazewell, Tenn., was found guilty of the charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, a Class B misdemeanor, first offense, and convicted felon in possession of a firearm, a Class D felony. Kanefsky was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary designated by the Kentucky Department of Corrections and 30 days in the Bell County Jail. He will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release, and will receive four days credit for time served in jail.
Nancy Ann Gibson, 33, of Stinnett, Ky., was found guilty of theft by unlawful taking or disposition over $300, a Class D felony. Gibson was sentenced to serve five years in a state penitentiary, which will be probated, and she will be placed on supervised probation for a period of five years under specific terms and conditions. She will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days.
Megan E. Marlow, 22, of Middlesboro was found guilty of an amended charge of possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor. Marlow was sentenced to serve 30 days in the Bell County Jail, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $151 within 180 days of release. She will receive two days credit for time served in jail.
Elvis Toby Ferrell, 30, of Pineville was found guilty of the charges of failure to comply with sex offender registration, a Class D felony, first offense, and second degree persistent felony offender, a Class C felony. Ferrell was sentenced to five years in a state penitentiary designated by the Kentucky Department of Corrections, and will be required to pay court costs in the amount of $131 within 180 days of release.
