MIDDLESBORO — A fast food chain in Bell County is getting a makeover at the start of next year. Both the Middlesboro and Pineville of Dairy Queen locations are being updated to more modern specifications.
Dairy Queen in Middlesboro will require a complete reconstruction. The restaurant is in the process of being torn down by RTC Construction so a new store can be built no later than March 1st, 2010, according to the President of DQ Corporate stores, Mike Kull. Currently, the restaurant located next to Food City is being gutted and will be torn down next week, according to Kull.
Kull said that not every restaurant gets rebuilt.
“We evaluate all of our sites,” said Kull. “We believe Middlesboro is a good community...and decided Middlesboro is the site we’d like to put in a new building.”
The Dairy Queen in Pineville, which is currently closed, will be renovated and reopened in the first week of January 2010 as a DQ Grill and Chill, according to Kull.
Middlesboro’s location will also be reopened as a DQ Grill and Chill. The management will remain under Joane Hoskins.

This is some news that happened in Knox Co. today.
Little more news than someone doing a remodel.
Yes, Bobby W. It is. The workers will miss their pay checks , But Hardees has most of the Morning Breakfast Busness anyway. Maybe the new place will sell coffee in a real cup, not Styrofoam cups. I hate my Morning Coffee Eggs & Biscuits in Styrofoam. GROSS!!!!!
