Della Greene Jackson, age 97 of the Devil’s Garden area of Hutch, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012 ,at the Middlesboro ARH.
She was born June 15, 1915, at Hanses Creek, and was a daughter of the late George and Myrtle Wilder Greene. A member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church, Della owned and operated the Devil’s Garden Store and Pool for 56 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar C. Jackson; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Theo (Vesta) Greene, Jack (Oma) Greene, Ulam (Mildred) Greene, Joe Greene, and Elam (Mildred) Greene; one sister and brother-in-law, Lois (Foley)Thompson; and one niece, Myrtle Katherine Greene.
Survivors include her daughter son-in-law, Betty and Virgil Barnett; grandsons, Wade (Amanda) Barnett and Vincent (Zarina) Barnett; great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Justin, Madisyn, Zefram, and Maliyah; one brother, Charles “Monk” (Faye) Greene; one sister, Georgia (Kenneth) Robbins; and and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Kenneth Robbins presiding.
Interment will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Creech Funeral Home.
