FRANKFORT – Road work will soon proceed on the Dorton Branch Road, KY 2394, as a result of $500,000 in funding, said state Rep. Rick Nelson, D-Middlesboro, for road improvements.

Dorton Branch Road in Pineville will be closed intermittently beginning March 4 and concluding on April 1.

Flaggers will be on site to provide traffic control while work is in progress, though some traffic delays are possible while work is conducted.

Work crews will return in early May – once asphalt plants have re-opened – to re-pave portions of the highway surface impacted by this project.

“I’m glad to see that improvements are on track for Dorton Branch Road,” said Nelson. “There have been a number of mud slides in the area that have caused problems on the road. The improvements will help make sure the road is dependable and safe for drivers.”

All work is scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather conditions.
