General Gibbons, 82 of Speedwell, Tenn., passed away Friday Nov. 2, 2012 at the U.T. Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn. He was born Aug 6, 1930 at Hensley Settlement, a son of the late Elijah and Louannia Hensley Gibbons. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Oakwood Masonic Lodge in Ortonville, MI. He was a member of the Shriner’s ,Scottish Rite and V.F.W. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia Gibbons of Speedwell, Tenn.; children, Rick (Debbie) Gibbons of Ortonville, MI and Becky Gibbons of Danville, Ky.; step-children, Mike Crouse of Elida, Ohio and Steve Crouse of Spencerville, Ohio; 2 sisters, Lorene Pittman of Spencerville, Ohio and Nancy (Arliss) Taylor of Tazewell, Tenn.; and 3 grandchilren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Gibbons presiding. Music will be by the Gibbons family. Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the Creech Funeral Home.
