Individuals graduate from Leadership Bell Co.

Pine Mountain State Park and Resort played host to the Leadership Bell County graduation Thursday night. Eight individuals graduated from the program with various backgrounds.

Those individuals were: Lindsey Helton (Middlesboro High School), Debbie Daniels (Bell-Whitley), Melanie Harris (Middlesboro ARH), Lisa Gibbs (Pineville Community Hospital), Bobby Abbott (Coke), Sam Osborne (Cumberland Gap National Park), Zach Frederich (Pineville High School), James M. Brown (Bell Co. High School) and Bitha Brock (SKCTC).

Abbott gave a presentation during the ceremony stating the different projects that Leadership Bell County has taken part in, including a 5K run fundraiser which resulted in a $2,000 donation to Operation UNITE.

Leadership Bell County is a program that focuses on strengthening basic leadership skills, developing a strong civic commitment to positively impact county issues by increased participation and increasing knowledge of issues to build on the cultural strengths of the county and surrounding areas.

Goals of the program include community awareness, leadership development, personal empowerment, networking, mentoring, group cooperation, problem solving and regional cooperation.
