Lavada Hawk, 94, of Middlesboro, passed away Tuesday, January 29 at the Middlesboro ARH, after a lengthy illness. She was born April 5, 1918 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the late Albert and Doshia Maiden Overton. She was a member of the West Cumberland Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband of 66 years, Bill Hawk; 3 sisters: Marcenia Lasley, Dessie Wagner and Ruby Miller; one brother: Phillip Overton; and one grandson: Mark Edward Wilford.
She is survived by the following members of her family: son: Omer (Ada) Hawk of Seymour, TN; daughter: Dolly (Donald) Wilford of Middlesboro, KY; grandsons: Allen (Lora) Wilford of Middlesboro, KY and Joshua (Kim) Hawk of Seymour, TN; granddaughter: Melissa Walters of Middlesboro, KY; great grandchildren: Coty Walters, Catie Walters, Hannah Wilford and Ave Grace Hawk; step great grandson: Hunter Moreland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Boyd Bingham and Garry Bingham presiding.
Music will be provided by Thomasa Risner.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Allen Wilford, Joshua Hawk, Coty Walters and Hunter Moreland.
