Lee Co. police break up major drug deal during routine patrol

JONESVILLE, Va. — A routine patrol led to a major seizure of narcotics in Lee County.

Investigators Captain Taylor Scott and Lt. Fred Rouse of the Lee County Sheriff’s Department discovered a drug transaction taking place on Route 606 near Stone Creek, according to Sheriff Gary Parsons.

The officers then seized a number of Oxycodone tablets, a Schedule II controlled substance, from Brian “Rocky” Lambert, 48, of Rt. 3 Pennington Gap.

They obtained twenty 40 mg. Oxycontin tablets and twenty-seven 30 mg. Oxycodone tablets from Jeffrey “Lynn” Pendergraft, 51, also of Rt. 3 Pennington Gap.

Lambert was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance without a Prescription. Pendercraft was charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Substance.

Both individuals are being held in the Duffield Regional Jail without bond. Arraignment is set for Nov. 9.

Parsons commended the work of his investigators. He asked that anyone with information about illegal drug activity call his office at (276) 346-7756.
