A Middlesboro man was arrested for allegedly breaking into several cars. Brandon Foster, 27, of Middlesboro, was arrested on four counts of receiving stolen property under $500.

Foster allegedly stole several items including a saw, GPS and two tool boxes. He also allegedly stole a Huffy bike, which was meant to be a Christmas present for the victim’s 5-year-old son.

According to the arrest citation, Foster was arrested near Gateway Christian School on Dec. 12. Along with the receiving stolen property charges, Foster also faces two counts of first-degree criminal mischief, two counts third-degree criminal mischief and several drug possession charges.

According to the Bell County Detention Center website, Foster remained in custody at the detention center.

Two other men were also arrested recently on theft charges.

Dennis Loop, 30, of Middlesboro, and Jeffery Laws, 42, of Middlesboro, were both arrested and charged with receiving stolen property over $500.

The two men were allegedly involved in distributing stolen items from Bluegrass Motors on 15th Street, according to the arrest citation. Loop allegedly took several chainsaws and weed eaters. Laws allegedly helped distribute the stolen items by selling them to family members. Loop also allegedly sold some of the stolen items.

Loop was charged with intimidating a witness as well. Loop still remains in custody, according to the detention center website. Laws was released on Dec. 14.

In other police reports:

* Joey L. Philpot, 38, of Pineville, was arrested by Jordan Hurd of the Middlesboro Police Department on a charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500;

* Charles Woodby, 32, of Middlesboro, was arrested by Brad Cawood of the MPD on the charge of second-degree burglary;

* Darrel Smith, 19, of Middlesboro, was arrested by Kenny Vanover of the MPD on the charge of second-degree burglary.
