Man dies in ATV crash

HARLAN — A Totz man died from injuries sustained in an ATV crash Thursday morning.
The Kentucky State Police responded to the fatal collision at approximately 5 a.m.
KSP Public Affairs Officer Shane Jacobs said a preliminary investigation indicates Billy R. Halcomb, 62, was operating an ATV west on Totz Alley Road when he struck a fence causing the ATV to overturn, ejecting Halcomb. The ATV then landed on top of Halcomb.
Halcomb was pronounced dead at the scene by Harlan County deputy coroner Jim Bush. The investigation into the collision continues by Trooper Jared Boggs.
LifeCare Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
