Mary Pansy White Hearon of Oak Ridge, Tenn., went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, Sept. 22,
2012.
A long time member of Robertsville Baptist Church, Pansy worked with preschoolers at the church for over 20 years. She was a wonderful cook and baker loved making new recipes. She was frequently finding and trying new recipes from the Internet, and the Food Network was often on at her house. In addition to enjoying crafts and being an avid reader, she was an accomplished seamstress, having made many beautiful things.
F or a number of years, Pansy owned and managed the Manhattan Laundromat in Woodland and the 50 Minute Cleaners on Illinois Avenue. Pansy retired from Methodist Medical Center in 1998, having worked there for 18 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jake Eskel White and Cornelia May Collingsworth White of Middlesboro; her former husband, William Seger Hearon of Greensboro, N.C.; her sister, Anna Ruth White Bingham, also of Middlesboro; and her brother, William Eskel White of New Mexico.
Pansy is survived by her son, Michael Carlin Hearon of Oak Ridge, Tenn; her daughter, Karla Lea Hearon of Greeneville, Tenn.; two sisters, Helen Marie White Shoemaker of Middlesboro and Gypsy Jean White Harrell of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Eubanks Hearon of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; granddaughter, Mikayla Dell Grace Hearon of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; adopted grandson, Blake Owens of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Tuesday from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral followed at 8 p.m. with Pastor Donnie Bible officiating.
A private graveside will be held at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
