Mildred Bradley, age 87 of Middlesboro, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was not only a loving mother, but loved by all who knew her. Mildred was a Kroger employee for 37 years. She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church of Middlesboro, where she was active in her Sunday School class. She was also a choir member and was awarded choir member Emeritus. She was a long time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Mildred was born June 24, 1925 in Middlesboro, the daughter of the late Talton Pearcy and Edna Lovett Pearcy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Roy Leon Bradley; and brothers, Talton Pearcy, Jr. and Eugene (Gene) Pearcy.
She is survived by her daughter, Gene (Charles) Walker; brother, Charles (Sammye) Pearcy; niece, Susan (Jim) Eddy; nephews, Don Pearcy, Greg (Lacretia) Pearcy, Charles (Patty) Pearcy; nieces, Edna Louise (Danny) Church, and Chris (Danny) Henderson; nephew, David (Cindy) Pearcy; niece, Barbara (Jim) Evans; and nephew, Ross Bradley, Jr. She is also survived by step-granddaughters, Beth (Shawn) Cox, and Alice (Kevin) Farley; step-great-grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Cox, and Caroline and Logan Farley.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Taylor officiating. Music will be provided by Karen and Larry Blondell. Burial will be in Hurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Coign, Donnie Fultz, Hobart Hubble, Bill Kunz, Cecil Powers, and Walt Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Neil Barry, Jr., Conley Bingham, Danny Crosby, Cecil England, Marvin Mayhall, James Sigmon, Bob Vaughan, and Bill Wilson.
The family will receive friends 1-3 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility or First Christian Church Choir Fund.
